1. Create distribution season and episode class as Standalone: 

 

These are main sections for the OTO as standalone in BV-

 

  1. Deal and Catalog Information is entered.
  2. Required fields to be populated.
  3. Distribution season is created with franchise field populated.
  4. Episode is populated with franchise, episode class and episode number.
  5. Program items and package per program item is searchable in BV.
  6. Distribution status is set to “Ready for Scheduling”

  1. Open New PBS deal template page.

Select the Deal Create sign from RL page.

RL Deal page is displayed.

  1. Enter the below required Deal template fields:
  • Deal Name
  • Programming Service
  • PBS Alliant ID

Type the desired values for the fields:

  • Deal Name- Name of the contract
  • Programming Service - Identifies which PBS Distributor
  • PBS Alliant ID- 4 numbers contract ID 

The following fields are displayed on the deal template –

  • Deal Name
  • Programming Service
  • PBS Alliant ID
  1. On the deal associations page create OTO and fill the required fields:

 

  • Sort-Friendly Title
  • Display Title
  • Title Language
  • Franchise
  • PBS Reporting Category (Primary)
  • PBS Synopsis Short
  • Country of Origin
  • Approx. Length
  • Episode Class for Standalones
  • Episode Number
  • PBS NOLA Root
  • PBS NOLA Code
  • Edit Use
  • Edit Class
  • Producer
  • Director

Type the values in OTO required fields:

  • Sort-Friendly Title- The series title with article at the end
  • Display Title- The full series title with article at the beginning
  • Title Language - defaults to English
  • Franchise 
  • PBS Reporting Category (Primary)- PBS's primary genre
  • PBS Synopsis Short-

Approximation of the episode's total run time

  • Episode Class for Standalones- Select Standalone value
  • Episode Number- Enter the BV Episode order number in this field.

Alpha Characters that make up complete NOLA code identifier for broadcast

  • PBS NOLA Code-

Numerical characters that make up complete NOLA code identifier for broadcast.

  • Edit Use- Type of Edit (i.e. US broadcast, UK Version, Theatrical)
  • Edit Class-The purpose of the edit
  • Producer-Producer Name
  • Director – Director Name

Select the ‘Auto Create Child Catalog Items’ on the OTO template.

The following fields are displayed on the OTO template –

  • Sort-Friendly Title
  • Display Title
  • Title Language
  • Franchise
  • PBS Reporting Category (Primary)
  • PBS Synopsis Short
  • Country of Origin
  • Approx. Length
  • Episode Class for Standalones

  1. On ‘Create Child Catalog Items’, create child Hierarchical records.

Type the desired number on catalog item:

•           PBS Edit

Number of chosen records will be created hierarchical wise under the OTO template.

  1. Update the required fields on the PBS Edit Template-
  • Sort-friendly Title
  • Edit Use
  • Edit Class

Type the values in PBS Edit required fields:

  • Sort-Friendly Title- The series title with article at the end
  • Edit Use- Type of Edit (i.e. US broadcast, UK Version, Theatrical)
  • Edit Class- The purpose of the edit

The following fields are displayed on PBS Edit Template –

  • Sort-Friendly Title
  • Edit Use
  • Edit Class
  1. On the Catalog section, click on distribution season template.

Select the Distribution season Create sign from RL page.

RL Distribution season page is displayed.

  1. Enter the below required Distribution season template fields:

  3. Title Language 
  4. Release Title
  5. Distribution Season Number
  6. Episode Class
  7. Franchise        
  8. PBS NOLA Root
  9. Company Display Credit

And click Save

Type the values in Distribution Season required fields:

  • Sort-friendly Title - The Franchise season title with article at the end.
  • Title Language - defaults to English
  • Release Title - Title with the article at the beginning.
  • Distribution Season Number – Distribution Season order number
  • Episode Class – Select Standalone
  • Franchise - The anthology the title belongs to - set list of options
  • PBS NOLA Root - Alpha Characters that make up complete NOLA code identifier for broadcast (ex:  GBBA)
  • Company Display Credit - The network the title has aired on

  • Sort-friendly Title
  • Title Language 
  • Release Title
  • Distribution Season Number
  • Episode Class
  • Franchise        
  • PBS NOLA Root
  • Company Display Credit

 

  1. Now on the distribution season associations page, associate the OTO created.

Click on the associations tab and select the OTO to be associated to the distribution season.

The OTO is associated to the distribution season template.

  1. Take action on the Distribution season and update status to Ready for Scheduling

Click on the Distribution Season status and set to “Ready for Scheduling”.

Distribution season status is set to Ready for Scheduling.

  1. Confirm the metadata alert is updated on Distribution season template and pbs_traffic_id is populated on OTO template.

Click in BV and check the OTO is created with episode category as Standalone . 

Program items is created in BV.
