Rightsline: How to create new deal and episodes from Rightsline to Broadview

There are four main sections for the new deal (series, season) and episodes creation from RL to BV -

  1. Deal and Catalog Information is entered
  2. Required fields to be populated
  3. Season status is set to “Ready for Scheduling”
  4. Program items and package per program item is searchable in BV.

Create Deal and episodes (Traffic Items) in Broadview

1. 

Select the PBS Deal to create.

 2.

Enter the desired values for the fields:

  • Deal Name- Name of the contract
  • Programming Service - Identifies which PBS Distributor
  • PBS Alliant ID- 4 numbers contract ID

Add Contacts if you have details.

Like Licensor and Licensee

Go to catalog page, click on + sign and select Series 

5. 

Add the values in series required fields:

Sort-Friendly Title- The series title with article at the end

Display Title- The full series title with article at the beginning

PBS Release Title - The final full series title with article at the beginning for PBS .

Title Language- defaults to English

PBS NOLA ROOT - Alpha characters that make up complete NOLA code identifier for broadcast

Series Class - can be anthology or episodic.

Select the ‘Auto Create Child Catalog Items’ on the series template.

Select or add contacts and click on Done

7. 

Select the desired number on catalog item, hierarchical wise like to be created and click on Done:

•          Season Container

•        Season

•        Episode

•        PBS Edit

You can also click on the SYNC button  to sync the fields to other catalog items.

You can sync all fields or sync selected fields.

After selecting option ,click on OK.

Now go to season and Enter the values in season required fields and click Save:

Display Title- The full season title with article at the beginning

PBS Release Title - The final full season title with article at the beginning for PBS .

Season Number – Number for the season 

PBS NOLA Root - Alpha characters that make up complete NOLA code identifier for broadcast

Country of Origin

PBS Referent Type - it can be either TV, Shorts or Web

Enter the values in episode required fields:

Sort-Friendly Title- The episode title with article at the end

Display Title- The full episode title with article at the beginning

PBS Release Title - The final full episode title with article at the beginning for PBS .

Title Language - defaults to English

Episode Number- Number of the episode

PBS Reporting Category (Primary)- PBS's primary genre

PBS Synopsis Short-

240-character official episode synopsis

Country of Origin-

Default The country

Approx. Length-

Approximation of the episode's total run time

PBS NOLA Root-

Alpha Characters that make up complete NOLA code identifier for broadcast

PBS NOLA Code-

Numerical characters that make up complete NOLA code identifier for broadcast.

PBS Referent Type - it can be either TV, Shorts or Web

Edit Use- Type of Edit (i.e. US broadcast, UK Version, Theatrical)

Edit Class-The purpose of the edit

Producer-Producer Name

Director – Director Name

 

11.Enter the values in PBS Edit required fields:

Sort-Friendly Title- The episode title with article at the end

Display Title- The full episode title with article at the beginning

Edit Use- Type of Edit (i.e. US broadcast, UK Version, Theatrical)

Edit Class-The purpose of the edit




12. 

Associate the catalogs hierarchy starting from series to the Deal template.

13. 

Click on the deal status to update from “Pending” to “Ready for Rights”.

14. 

Click on the season status and set to “Ready for Scheduling”.

 

After successful integration with BV 

15. 

Metadata alert is populated on season template.

16. 

Pbs_traffic_ID is populated on the episodes.
