Deal and episode not in RL but exist in BV (workaround)

 

Prerequisites:
- deal is in BV

- deal is not in RL (not migrated in RL)

- episodes are in BV 

- episodes are not in RL


These are the steps for this scenario:

  1. Deal and Catalog Information is entered
  2. Required fields to be populated
  3. Catalog (episode) is associated to series, season container and season 
  4. Deal pbs_traffic_id is added in RL.
  5. Episodes pbs_traffic_id is added in RL.

  1. User will create a Deal which is in BV not in Rightsline.

Select PBS deal template and create new deal.

Type the desired values for the fields:

  • Deal Name- Name of the contract
  • Programming Service - Identifies which PBS Distributor
  • PBS Alliant ID- 4 numbers contract ID

PBS deal is created.

 

  1. User add pbs_traffic_id on the deal template using BV deal id. 

On the deal template, enter the value on the pbs_traffic_id field like ‘alid:org:pbs.org:Broadview-xxxxxxxx’

Pbs_traffic_id value is added on the deal template.

  1. Associate all the parent catalogs to the deal like series or season container or season. 

Go to the deal associations page and add parent catalogs.

Parent catalog is added to the deal.

  1. User will create an episode/OTO which is in BV not in Rightsline. 

Select Catalog and create Episode in RL. 

Catalog template is displayed.

  1. Enter the required fields in RL episode/OTO template.

Type the values in episode /OTO required fields:

  • Sort-Friendly Title- The series title with article at the end
  • Display Title- The full series title with article at the beginning
  • Title Language - defaults to English
  • PBS Reporting Category (Primary)- PBS's primary genre
  • PBS Synopsis Short-

Approximation of the episode's total run time

  • PBS NOLA Root-

Alpha Characters that make up complete NOLA code identifier for broadcast

  • PBS NOLA Code-

Numerical characters that make up complete NOLA code identifier for broadcast.

  • Edit Use- Type of Edit (i.e. US broadcast, UK Version, Theatrical)
  • Edit Class-The purpose of the edit
  • Producer-Producer Name
  • Director – Director Name

The following fields are displayed on the episode /OTO template –

  • Sort-Friendly Title
  • Display Title
  • Title Language
  • PBS Reporting Category (Primary)
  • PBS Synopsis Short
  • Country of Origin
  • Approx. Length
  • PBS NOLA Root
  • PBS NOLA Code
  • Edit Use
  • Edit Class
  • Producer
  • Director

 

  1. Go to Episode/OTO, to add pbs_traffic_id value.

On the episode/OTO template, enter the value on the pbs_traffic_id field like cid:org: pbs.org:Broadview-xxxxxxxx

Pbs_traffic_id value is added on the episode/OTO template.

  1. User submit a support ticket, so that the RL ID can be added in Mbank episode, season and deal can be created if it is not there.

Go to support.pbs.org and create ticket.

Support ticket is submitted

  1. After Tier 1/Tier 2 is complete with Mbank work, they will send the reply on the ticket.

Tier 1/Tier 2 will reply to users to complete step 6.

Reply is sent back to users.

  1. User change the episode/OTO status back to ‘Ready for scheduling’/Ready External Publish’.

Click on the episode/OTO template to change the status to ‘Ready for scheduling’/Ready External Publish’.  

Episode/OTO status is changed in RL.
